>> LOCAL DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

As a small business, we understand the importance of supporting our community. We couldn't have achieved the success we have had thus far without the support of DC residents. With that, we are proud to announce the addition of our "Local Designer Spotlight" section now available in store. We are featuring a variety of local designers that exude individuality, style, and creativity. Meet the designers!

After a chance encounter with a wild vintage tie, Eliot Payne had a revelation; he could take charge of his dapper destiny and make his own bow ties. Before long, compliments and requests were abound, and Eliot founded Accoutre, a whimsical boutique bow tie company based in Washington, DC. Accoutre puts a modern twist on an old-school staple to make seriously stylish statements through mixed prints, lush fabrics, and bright color. Through sharp styling, a wink of humor, and endless penache, Accoutre adds an innovative edge to menswear that leaves ladies and gentleman wanting to wear more. Get dressed, with Accoutre.

University of MD (Go Terps!) grad that received a BS in Kinesiology thinking I wanted to be a Physical Therapist. Not so much. I changed paths and moved to California to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). There I majored in Merchandise Marketing. While I loved being on the west coast, I couldn't really see myself staying there. Long story short, I moved back to MD. I have over 10 years experience in retail so I was constantly around clothing and was in desperate need of a change. At the end of 2009 I started a styling and personal shopping business called StyleLust. It was fun for a while, but I quickly grew bored with it. So now it is something I do every once in a while if asked. That was also the time that my blog StyleLust Pages (http://stylelustpages.com) came to be. I still blog on the regular and love it.

Working at the National Gallery of Art provides her with an ever changing source of artistic inspiration.
